The York Sail & Power Squadron serves the east central states in the vicinity of the Chesapeake Bay and was 50 years old in 2015, a milestone in our history. We meet on the first Thursday of every month of the year for meetings, speakers, and events. Our goals are to continue boating education, to participate in civic activities that contribute to boating safety, and to enjoy the fellowship of other boaters. An update on events in our squadron can be found online at yorkboating.org, and you will also receive our newsletter, the Anchorline.

The United States Power Squadron celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014 with nearly 40,000 members organized into over 400 squadrons across the country and in some US territories. It is a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to promoting safe boating through education. Further information about the parent organization can be found at beyondboating.org. As a member, you will also begin receiving The Ensign, a magazine produced by the United States Power Squadron, as well as emails notifying you of very interesting online classes, among other events.

With your membership, you are also part of District 5, which includes members from the states of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, District of Columbia, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Southern New Jersey. These members border the waters of the Atlantic, the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays. D/5 produces a newsletter entitled “Mark 5,” which you will be receiving online and/or in hard copy, and you can access their website at uspsd5.org.
